112 Agnew, Frances, MOTION PICTURE ACTING: HOW TO PREPARE FOR PHOTOPLAYING, WHAT QUALIFICATIONS ARE NECESSARY, HOW TO SECURE AN ENGAGEMENT, SALARIES PAID TO PHOTOPLAYERS.

Overall Good+ to Very good copy. 101 pages. 7 1/2 x 5 1/4.
Illustrated with vintage black-and-white photographic portraits and movie stills. This is a very scarce, very early book about motion picture acting. The actors (male and female) shown in the photos are some of the early pioneers in the industry. Most of their names were not known to us, but certainly would be to any movie historian or collector. Particularly interesting is Chapter VI, "Salaries of Motion Picture Players. Beginner's receive $2.50 to $10.00 per day. "The weekly salaries of motion picture artists in the regular stock companies range from $35.00 to $60.00 for minor players, and from $75.00 to $250.00--and even morein exceptional cases--for the leads and stars." My how times have changed. This is just a sample of the fascinating information in this book.
