1 Several Hands, Published by William Dodd, M.A., Chaplain in Ordinary to His Majesty. THE VISITOR. (TWO (2) VOLUMES).
London: Printed for Edward and Charles Dilly, in the Poultry, near Mansion-House. 1764. 1st edition. Bound in period, brown leather. It appears the sp The boards are rubbed, and some wear. The binding is tight and the books make a very good appearance. The pages are clean and bright and Very Good or better. The publication is scarce and rare in this condition. 
Frontispiece in Vol. I. "The conductor and chief author of this collection was Dr. William Dodd (1729 - 1777) , whose dissipated life and disgraceful death are sufficiently known to the public. (He was convicted of forgery and was hanged). The Visitor made its original appearance in The Ledger, during the years 1760 and 1761, is a collection of weekly columns first published in John Newbery's The Public Ledger between 1760 to 1761; and, having acquired some popularity, a selection from it was republished in two volumes 12mo. in 1764."
